Having traveled extensively to South Korea has led me to Busan time and time again.
There’s a certain allure to this city, a blend of lively urban spirit and tranquil beach atmosphere, that resonates with me on a personal level.
With its diverse range of activities, I never tire of visiting, always finding something new to explore.

To help you make the most of your trip, I’ve listed the activities and attractions close to each other, making it easier to save time and plan your itinerary efficiently.
Each attraction comes with a brief description and helpful directions to guide you along the way.
As always, I recommend using a navigation app like Naver Maps to get an accurate idea of your route and commute times while exploring the city.
How To Get To Busan From Seoul
The most convenient way is to take the Korea Train Express (KTX) high-speed train, which is considered the fastest and most efficient option, typically taking around 2 and a half hours from Seoul Station to Busan Station.
Another option is to take an intercity bus from Seoul. They primarily depart from the Gyeongbu Line Bus Terminal, located at the Express Bus Terminal Station (served by Seoul Subway Lines 3, 7, and 9).
A bus ride takes approximately 4.5 hours and costs about 25,400 KRW, which is nearly half the price of a KTX ticket.
Some folks fly from Gimpo to Gimhae airport. Or take an intercity bus from Express Buss Station, which can take 4 to 5 hours.
Travel Tip: Busan City Tour Bus is a convenient and affordable way to explore Busan’s top attractions at your own pace. With various routes, including the must-see Haeundae and Gwangalli areas, it’s perfect for first-time visitors or those looking to hit the highlights without worrying about transportation. FAQ
Busan truly is a gem! With its beautiful beaches like Haeundae and Gwangalli, it’s a perfect destination for relaxation, coastal walks, and even beach sports.
Compared to the fast-paced energy of Seoul, Busan has a more laid-back vibe that lets you unwind while still enjoying vibrant cultural experiences, delicious seafood, and plenty of things to do. It’s an ideal place for both adventure and relaxation, making it a top choice for a getaway.
Most folks visit Busan for 3 to 4 days, enough time to explore the city’s top attractions like Haeundae Beach, Gamcheon Culture Village, and Jagalchi Fish Market. This timeframe allows you to enjoy the must-see sites and some of the city’s natural beauty, like the beach, coastal walks, or a peaceful stroll through Yongdusan Park.
However, if you want to dive deeper into the local culture, indulge in the food scene, and explore even more attractions, consider extending your stay by a day or two. A longer trip allows you to visit different beaches and neighborhoods without feeling rushed, allowing you to experience all that Busan has to offer fully.
While 3 to 4 days is plenty for the major highlights, a longer stay will let you discover a richer, more authentic side of Busan. Busan is my favorite city, so I often stay for weeks at a time—there’s always something new to explore!
Busan is famous for its stunning beaches, vibrant cultural scene, and delicious seafood. As South Korea’s second-largest city and a major port, it plays a key role in the country’s economy and international trade.
It offers a perfect mix of urban excitement and natural beauty, with attractions like Haeundae Beach, Jagalchi Fish Market, and scenic spots like Gamcheon Culture Village. Busan is also known for hosting the renowned Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), which attracts filmmakers and cinephiles from around the world.
Busan is walkable in areas like Haeundae, Seomyeon, and Nampo, where most attractions, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance of each other.
However, since the city is spread out, it’s best to use public transportation when traveling between different areas. The public transportation system, including buses and subways, makes it easy to get around if you need to cover longer distances.
For those who enjoy exploring on foot, Busan’s scenic spots, such as the beachfront and mountain trails, are perfect for a leisurely stroll. Just be prepared for some hills in certain neighborhoods, as Busan’s terrain can be quite hilly in places.
Wrap Up
From relaxing at Haeundae Beach to discovering the vibrant streets of Gamcheon Culture Village, Busan has something for every traveler.
Experience the street food at BIFF Street or take in breathtaking views from the Oryukdo Skywalk. Wander the peaceful paths of Yongdusan Park and visit the stunning Haedong Yonggungsa Temple by the sea.
