Annyeong! Lynette imnida.
That means ‘Hi, I’m Lynette’ in Korean.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I share everything I wish I’d known before traveling in and around South Korea.
From 2019 to 2021, I taught English and lived in a small Korean countryside town called Gonjiam.

It was about an hour outside of Seoul, so I spent most weekends hopping on the subway to explore different corners of the capital—palaces, markets, neighborhoods, and the occasional tourist trap. I loved it.
Aside from a few overnight trips, I didn’t see much beyond the city. But one trip to Busan changed everything.
I fell in love with the beachside vibe, the energy, and the sea views—especially at night. These days, it’s my go-to destination and where I stay whenever I return to Korea.

After leaving Korea, I started planning a return trip and quickly realized how hard it was to find current, trustworthy travel information—especially in English.
That’s when the idea for this blog took shape.
Since then, I’ve been back several times—mostly to make up for lost time.
These days, I plan entire trips around Korea’s epic festivals, especially fireworks and lantern events.
From glowing rivers of lanterns in Jinju to sky-shaking fireworks in Pohang, I’ve built whole vacations around them—and squeezed in some unforgettable side trips along the way.
